KickStart Online brought together custom web development, product photography and document design for Design4 Technologies (Pty) Ltd. Working collaboratively with Design4, we created a coordinated way to present its electrical furniture range online and in downloadable product literature.
The challenge: presenting a varied product range
Design4’s range includes products for on-desk, in-desk and under-desk applications, alongside charging and connectivity modules. Presenting that variety called for clear product images and layouts that could accommodate different finishes, configurations and technical information.
The project brought these requirements together across three connected formats: a custom website, a product brochure and downloadable datasheets. Design4 supplied the brochure and datasheet copy and technical specifications, and collaborated with us on the design and layout of all three.
A custom website built around the products
We developed the Design4 website using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The website brings product photography and information together, with downloadable documents available to visitors who need supporting detail.
The public downloads page includes product-range datasheets, module information and supporting resources. These give visitors a route from browsing the products to accessing the relevant documentation.

Product photography across every colour variation
KickStart photographed the entire product range, including all colour variations. This scope allowed the product imagery to represent the different options in the range, rather than relying on a single photograph for each product family.
We then deep-etched the photographs to isolate the products from their backgrounds, colour-balanced the images and retouched them for presentation. This work provided a consistent visual foundation for the project’s product communications.
A brochure and datasheets designed in collaboration
Alongside the website, we designed and produced Design4’s brochure and downloadable datasheets. Design4 collaborated on the layouts and supplied the copy and technical specifications; KickStart’s role was to organise and present that material through design and production.
The public Edition 14 brochure shows how much information these layouts need to accommodate. Its Blade Eco page brings together product imagery, finish options and module information. The downloadable USB Type-C + USB-A 35W PD datasheet offers another example, with sections for colour options, features, specifications and approvals.
These examples show the breadth of the document design work: presenting the product visually while giving Design4’s supplied information a clear structure. The technical content remains Design4’s contribution.

Ongoing maintenance and updates
Our involvement continues beyond the initial production work. KickStart provides website maintenance and updates, together with brochure revisions, supporting Design4 as its product materials change.
The outcome: coordinated product presentation
The project delivered a custom website, photography of the entire range and its colour variations, a brochure and downloadable datasheets. Together, these materials give Design4 a coordinated way to present its products and make supporting information available.
It is a project that combines technical development with careful visual production, supported by an ongoing working relationship and Design4’s product knowledge.
