The challenge
Motus SSP needed a dedicated space to explain its new software to the people who would use it. Employees and dealership personnel needed guidance on individual tasks, video demonstrations of each step and reference material they could consult as they learned.
The brief also called for account management and a way to encourage participation through questions, points and surprise gifts. The training experience needed to connect learning activities with a clearly defined scoring system and a random prize draw.
Our solution
KickStart Online created a private microsite with secure entry and individual accounts. Task-focused instructional copy explained what participants needed to do, while step-by-step videos demonstrated the software processes. Together, the written guidance and videos provided training and reference content within the same experience.
Eight quizzes gave participants opportunities to answer questions about the software. Each quiz contained five true/false questions, creating a total of 40 questions across the programme. Points recognised participation as well as correct answers.
How the quiz scoring worked
Each answered question earned 1 point. A correct answer earned 2 additional points, for a total of 3 points per correct answer. An incorrect answer therefore earned 1 point. With five questions per quiz, the maximum was 15 points per quiz and 120 points across all eight quizzes.
For example, answering all 40 questions with 30 correct answers would earn 40 participation points plus 60 additional points, for a total of 100. Answering all 40 questions incorrectly would earn 40 points; answering all 40 correctly would earn the maximum 120.
Repeat point accumulation was prevented, so repeating questions could not be used to keep increasing a participant’s total. This supported a defined points ceiling for the training programme.
Connecting quiz points to the prize draw
A weighted random prize draw used accumulated quiz points to determine participants’ relative chances of selection for a surprise gift. The weighting was proportional to quiz points: a participant with 120 points had twice the selection weight of a participant with 60 points.
Higher points increased a participant’s chance of selection, but did not guarantee a prize. The draw remained random. Exact odds depended on the eligible points included in the draw.
The delivered experience
The completed microsite combined secure entry, individual accounts, instructional copy, step-by-step videos, eight true/false quizzes, controlled point accumulation and a points-weighted random prize draw. It gave Motus SSP a dedicated environment for software training, reference and participant engagement.
These outcomes describe the functionality delivered. Participation rates, learning gains, software adoption improvements and other measured business results have not been supplied for this case study.
Project access
This was a private training microsite for Motus SSP employees and dealership personnel. No public project URL is available.
